FG & Labour No Longer Cherish Our Children Equally

The 1916 Proclamation declares that the Republic will cherish all the children of the nation equally, yet as we approach its centenary, this FG/Lab Govt seems determined to no longer do this, as now the children of working Middle Ireland (ie the people who get out of bed every day to work, who pay for everything themselves and who are already struggling) are now to receive less than the children of parents who have never worked, and never contributed anything to society.

It’s time the tax payers of Ireland standup, and tell Enda Kenny enough is enough, Middle Ireland can’t give any more.

Patients Will Die Because of Labour

The words from the Labour Party’s Leader, Chairman and numerous TDs are utterly sickening as it is their insistence on protecting the Croke Park Agreement that is putting the salaries of their well paid union buddies before the lives of sick and vulnerable citizens.

How many will have to die before the Labour Party allow the renegotiation clause to be triggered?

James Connolly must be spinning in his grave at the betrayal of his ideals.

Inkgate – Gardai Launch Probe

Click here to download PDF of article in the Irish Daily Mail.

As reported by Senan Molony in today’s Irish Daily Mail SF Deputy Aengus Ó Snodaigh could face prosecution after expert analyses use of printer cartridges:

“Gardai  are investigating Aengus Ó Snodaigh’s use of ink cartridges from the Dáil during the Inkgate scandal revealed in the Irish Daily Mail this year.

A computer expert (me!) has reported the Sinn Féin TD after accessing official Dáil records and finding anomalies in the log of repairs carried out on his printers.

And last night, it emerged that a senior Garda officer has written to the clerk of the Dáil over the matter.

Mick Wallace’s Statement Insufficient

Mick Wallace’s statement was far from being full and and frank and leaves a lot of be desired

Firstly it wasn’t an “under-declaration of VAT” but a deliberate and knowingly false declaration of VAT. Secondly VAT is not his company’s money so should never have been used for cash flow, then or ever.

He goes on to say he “believed that the company would be able to pay the full amount within six to twelve months“.  If that was the case why did he not send in a truthful VAT return and contact the Revenue to arrange a payment schedule?

He goes on to describe his false declaration as “an error of judgement“, this is nonsense as it was a calculated decision, a crime is a crime and should be described as such.

Deputy Wallace ends his statement by referring to cuts in Special Needs Assistants, this is especially ironic as the €2.1m he owes to the State would pay the an annual salary of over of 80 SNAs.

If Deputy Wallace genuinely wants to apologise then he should resign his seat immediately.

Towards 2016

During the course of the next number of months celebrations will commence marking the centenary of the 1912 signing of Ulster’s Solemn League and Covenant. Despite the passage of one hundred years, both traditions on this Island will look back to this and other events over the next decade with different feelings about what these events ignited and what they mean to people today. It is somewhat surprising, that having spent much of the past twenty years ending the conflict, we have not made the same effort at cementing the reconciliation that the next ten years would allow us to do if managed properly. So I do hope that we will take the events like the Covenant, or the Rising or the Somme and remember together that this is our shared history, and that we have learned from the mistakes of previous generations, who may have set the tone for much of our past but who don’t necessarily have to set the tone for the future.

Labour Cllr Denies Connection Between Labour and Unions!

Cllr Barry Nevin was interviewed on East Coast Radio‘s Morning Show today.

When my text “It shouldn’t be forgotten that Labours insistence on giving their public service union buddies pay rises via increments will cost twice as much as the household charge will raise” was put to Cllr Nevin he refused to answer.

At the end of the interview another texter raised the same issue, and during his bizarre response Cllr Nevin was asked by by the programme’s presenter, Declan Meehan, “is there a connection between labour party and public sector unions” he replied “No”.

Strangely Cllr Nevin’s profile page says he is ”deeply involved in the Bray & District Council of Trade Unions.”

Relevant parts of interview can be heard here.

Apparently tomorrow Cllr Nevin will be discussing how the Earth is really at the centre of the Universe.
